May is always a busy month. We are trying to wrap up school and end of year activities. Spring work and gardening is in full swing. The weather gets nice and I just want to be outside and working out there. I always have lots of indoor work I would like to get done at the same time. And then we end the month with the girls' dance show and our anniversary. So here goes May in review...
Sammy cat! Our sweet big boy! We love this cat so much! He is just the funniest and sweetest cat!
This was the showcase night at Co-op. They did a shortened version of the Alice in Wonderland play without all the backdrops and decorations. There were some other classes and performances as well. I just didn't get any of their pictures. Afterwards I checked out the display downstairs. This was of the yearbook which Claire was part of.
On May 4th, we went to watch our friends from church play in the Philharmonic Symphony. It was Star Wars themed because of the date (May the Fourth be with you!). It was honestly so amazing especially the end when the kids we knew played all the Star Wars themed music and they had their bows lit up like light sabers. It was awesome!
We got to celebrate Jada's 20th birthday on May 7th! Crazy! How did that happen?!!
Claire and her friends attended the homeschool formal dance again this year and all the girls came to our house to get ready. I of course had to have some fun snacks for them to eat!
And upstairs in my room and bathroom the girls were all getting beautiful for the whole afternoon!
They all were so pretty! We got a lot of great pictures in the backyard before they headed off to the dance!
My extra daughter Kelsey!
The younger girls went over to the Griesemer's house to watch a movie with their friends.
We were invited to Longley's for a birthday dinner for Jennifer and it was so yummy! I can't remember the name of the food but you basically cooked meat and veggies in a pot of hot broth on the table and then dipped them in these yummy sauces. We all had a good time except Liv wasn't there. She was at her small group.
This was during the last chapel of co-op for the year. Julian was pretty fun giving this speech.
All the seniors!
The next night was the co-op graduation! I went and was able to see most of our friends graduate. What fun to hear their parents share about each of them.
Rae at home dressed up in a graduation robe we have from OC.
The flowers they got me for Mother's day!
More pet pictures. A cat and dog on a lap!
I think I showed the Valentine cards before, but I couldn't remember and a new one that Rae made me for Mother's Day.
It looks so good for a little while at least!

We decided to go with our friends to the Viking Fest parade. It was rainy and cold, but it was a fun and very long parade!

These are pics of the girls from instagram about their upcoming show!
Look at Oliver sitting on the post in front!
On this day I worked hard and cleaned up and weeded and then freshened up the bark, by fluffing it all up again. I did the back first because that is the part I see the most when I look out at the yard from my bedroom window or front porch. I think I took 5 or 6 wheel barrows of pine needles, sticks and leaves and weeds off of the back portion.
Memorial Day weekend was kind of crazy. It is dance show all weekend and Hans and my mom both flew in for the weekend for the dance show. The flew in Friday night and then back out Monday evening. That way I only had to drive once to pick them both up and drop them off. The show was amazing! The girls were in both shows in Casey at the Bat. And then the older show they had their ballet and pointe dances as well. The show was really well done and was the 15th anniversary so that was extra fun. You are not supposed to take pictures, so I never get great ones, but I always try to get few.
The first show, just my mom and I went because it was the little kid show, but the girls were doing Casey at the Bat. I did get a few pictures but we were pretty far away so they are hard to see. Claire was on the red team and Raelyn was a cheerleader.
Raelyn and I after the 1st show!
The second show was when the girls had their ballet and pointe dances. They were so pretty! Again I was not supposed to take video or pictures so they aren't the best. I try to not be too obvious that I am taking them. This time we were a bit closer to the stage though!
This is Claire's ballet dance...
Raelyn's pointe dance was really cute!!
And here is Raelyn's ballet dance...
After the show there was a very nice reception with sandwiches, food, and cake. And they gave out shirts and special senior sweatshirt for Claire. It was a nice time and I appreciated it.
We did a little flag flying on Memorial Day!
And we had our end of year Sluy's doughnuts and Nordic coffee with the Mills boys. A fun tradition! These kids are getting so big! And another year down...wow! Time just keeps marching on...
