At 8:14 am a year ago today our sweet surprise blessing arrived, filling our hearts with joy! After a short and fairly easy labor and delivery we were blessed to spend the day in our home soaking up our little newborn. This past year has flown by quickly. I really can't believe she is already 1!! This time just goes by too quickly for my liking, but I have always been one to love babies and I have really enjoyed having babies in my life for the past (almost) 8 years. It is hard for me to imagine life without a baby in tow so although I love watching them grow and change I am also a bit sad that my time with babies in the home will be coming to an end in the near future.
But for now we celebrate our sweet baby girl and her first year of life. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from her first year. As usual I had a tough time paring it down so it is a bit long.

Raelyn has changed so much in the last couple months. She is standing unassisted. And is walking some of the time. She took her first steps a couple weeks ago. She just lights up when she walks and we notice and are so proud of her. Aubrey loves to say, "Good job Raelyn! I so proud of you!". She is also climbing more. She goes up the stairs (but now down yet), and will even climb up on the trundle bed. She now has all 4 top teeth and has one of her bottom side teeth. She loves to eat everything we are eating and kicks her feet and grunts (or screams) to ask for it. Time to start on that sign language!! She is also "talking" a lot more. She says, "Dada, Mama and a-dig-a-dig-a-dig-u" and lots of other babble!! I am sure there is more to come with all the talking that happens in our house!! Raelyn had her one year doctor appointment on Tuesday and weighed in at 19 lbs. 4 oz (my biggest baby at age one!) and 31 inches (95%---by far our tallest baby too!!). She is still taking two naps a day and is usually a great sleeper at night. As far as her bowel issues those are going much better. We have started a special probiotic to get her gut back in balance and are trying to keep sugar to a minimum as I feel she has a problem with an overgrowth of yeast in her body.

Raelyn is a perfectly sweet, totally scrumptious, completely adorable, and precious gift from above!! She wasn't in our plan, but she was definitely in God's plan and now that we have had her for a year we can't imagine life without our little sweet heart. We love you so much Raelyn Rebecca!! Happy 1st Birthday!!
