I always try to make the first day of school fun since my girls don't head off to school to see their friends and don't have a list of new stuff they need for school. So we try to do something extra special to make the first day fun. This year I decorated all their breakfast plates the night before and left out a scavenger hunt that had school supplies at each spot they got a clue and ended with a little gift bag full of cheap toys and school supplies I knew they would love. Oh and of course we had to have cinnamon rolls for breakfast!!

And then we actually did some school too! This is my first year homeschooling two and so far it is going ok. It is definitely more of a challenge since they are both quite needy and we are in the midst of moving. But it will work itself out and we will get some good learning in this year I know!
It was raining out our first day of "home"school so I waited to do our first day of school pictures till their first day of Homebase which is our homeschooling group that they attend each Monday for 3 hours in the morning. Aubrey is really wanting to do school and is very sad she is not quite old enough to stay at Homebase with Claire. She told me that morning, "Mom, I four now so I can go to school!". Ah, growing up too fast!!
Then we did some individual pictures when we got home. They are growing up so fast!!
