Other June Fun

June in Washington is usually pretty gloomy, but this year we had amazing weather and it got hot the end of May and pretty much stayed hot and dry till mid August. Besides the daddy daughter ball, the girls' recital and Raelyn's birthday we had lots of other fun happenings. So here is a recap of June through pictures.

Warm days mean playing in the sprinkler and pool and sometimes playing in them fully clothed! I do love laundry...lol!

We finally got the space in front of our shed cleaned up and nice. From the time we moved in it was filled with logs that they had left for us for fire wood. Well it took a bunch of cutting and then stacking and then 10 yards of dirt to fill in the hole and then a bunch of beautiful perennials to get planted but now it looks really nice!

Small group at a friends house. Only 4 families and this many kids? Yeah we are all homeschoolers with at least 3 or more kids each. They had a blast and were playing games and making videos as we did a Bible study.

Pow wow in the front yard? I don't know what they were discussing but they looked so cute!

Resting on the way to our only boating trip of the summer. A fun trip but a total bummer that we didn't get our boat again. It's a long story...

We got to boat with the Mills and the kids loved it. Our tube was a bit under inflated so it kept blowing up with the wind and lite kids on it. Also the motor would be running great and then start skipping for a bit till we let it rest and then it would run great again. I didn't think it would be our only trip out so I didn't get many pictures expecting we would be out again. But between Hans being in D.C. fro 2 weeks, 2 weeks in Montana, getting home to lots of work and a birthday party to plan plus two camping trips then finally being ready to use it and it not running and spending three weeks in the shop only to find out it needed 3 new batteries and was fine...yeah a bit frustrating! Oh well, what do you do?

Yeah sometimes I wake up to this!! And I just want to remember so I had to snap a picture. I now I will miss these days so much!!

Before the rehearsal Raelyn had to get her hair done too. Such a cutie! Wants to be like her big sisters.

Did I mention Hans was gone for the girls' recital? Yeah he spent about 10 days in Washington D.C. doing planning for the next project he will be one which will be us heading to San Diego in February of 2016. So my parents came out to see the girls dance and to help me out with shuttling them around places and getting them ready for the show. It was nice to have them there for company and help!!

Since dress rehearsal was Thursday night we had a free day Friday and decided to head to Sequim to check out Dungeness Valley Creamery and The Olympic Game Farm. But first we stopped for lunch at a little cafe and the girls had to get a picture with the bears (or at least the little 3 did).

Next, we found our way to the creamery. I wanted to try out their raw milk and love that they use Jersey cows instead of Holstein. We got to see the baby calves that were set out front and bought some milk, cream, and raw goat cheese. The girls loved the babies. They were super cute and super soft!

Then it was off to the game farm. It was not quite what I had expected. I guess I was expecting more of an open area to drive around and look for wild game. But although some of the wild game was loose and able to come up to your car they were in different sections of fenced areas. Also there was a caged section of bears, tigers, foxes, etc. that were hard to see. Overall the girls enjoyed it and thought it was pretty fun to have the animals come right up to the car! In the elk section you are suppose to keep moving so the elk do not surround your car like this one. We definitely kept moving as they girls were freaked out by them getting too close. This sections was a bit crazy! The animals really wanted the bread you could feed them from the windows. They loved it!

And yep if you stopped the elk would just stick their heads right in the window as you can see in this picture. These people were a bit frustrating as the man was just talking on his phone and the rest of the family was hogging the elk!

Then we went to the walk around/petting zoo area.

There was a neat tour about how they used to use some of the animals for old movies and that is how the farm got started. The barn we toured was actually used in old movies and had some cool old pictures of the animals in the movies.

This cabin was used for the filming a show. The man in the show was suppose to be a large brawny man but he was actually only 5 feet 6 inches so they made the cabin small so that he looked big in comparison to it.

Mad it home from a long fun day so got some cuddles in with Grandpa.

After the recital was over I had lots of house projects I wanted to work on. I changed around the toy area upstairs, redecorated the girls' rooms, and of course the normal stuff of life plus running kids to places they needed to be.
