Awesome April

April was a busy month! Easter, a new boat, cleaning, small group, friends, track meet, and so much more. I am quite far behind as I am writing this blog post in October. It feels as if I may never catch up and sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't just give up. But I am trying. Trying to keep up, trying to shorten (maybe) and trying to keep going. We will see! So, I better get to it!

I would not remember this if I hadn't take pictures...lol! Cleaning the pantry and cleaning Claire's closet and going through shoes. Thrown in the mix is a small "big" group we joined in April with our church. And some pictures that I found when I was cleaning the closet of my brother and I at his graduation from Prairie Bible College the spring that I also got married.

Spring brings beautiful flowers and the promise of more sunshine and flowers to come!

These girls are such sweet friends and I am so glad that God brought this family to our church. The girls had such a grand time, making a whole little movie, complete with costumes and editing. They are super cute and so creative. I really love it!

This was a fun get together at the Michaud house. They always have fun parties!

More reorganizing....Aubrey didn't like the way these shelves looked so we changed them out.

Easter week is always busy fitting in all the Easter fun. We started with egg dying!  Just my younger 3 were up for it this year. They turned out so pretty as always!

Then we made our resurrection gardens! Also a fun tradition!

Some pretty flowers I had for Easter!

And on a different day here are the finished eggs! They all turned out so pretty!

This year for Easter Raelyn was really wanting a little scavenger hunt again, like I had done in the past. So I decide to do it for her. Of course, I waited till the last minute to put this together and ended up using clues that I had used before, but tried to change them up a bit and ended it in a different spot than the last time. The older girls were not as amused as Raelyn was. She and Aubrey enjoye their hunt.

Here are the baskets they got. They were hidden in the bathtub in our bathroom.

The younger two doing the hunt together.

Then Olivia went and I think Claire joined in at the end, the little cheater. Haha!

And I got pics of al the girls except Claire somehow. I am not sure how she got out of doing her basket picture, but she did! GRR!

When we got home from church we took a few pictures in our church clothes. It was cold outside so we did pictures inside in my bedroom.

The table was so pretty and we had a really yummy dinner together!

It was the rainiest day so we did our egg hunt in the house. Not as fun as outside, but it was still pretty fun. Olivia even obliged and still hunted for her eggs. She likes candy...lol!

The cake I made this year was new and was a lemon raspberry cake with lemon buttercream frosting. It was so yummy! I couldn't get enough of it!

And a pretty Easter table runner!

Sweet little Oliver...He is the cutest!
I finally got Claire a birthday present and this was one of them...books! She is liking books more these days!

My sweet babies are growing up! Each time I pack up the clothes for the last time is pretty bitter sweet. I feel sad to have to give them away so I take some pictures so I can remember what their clothes were like at these ages. So many memories for many of them.

On this night we went to our friends house for dinner and the kids played some badminton outside. It was really cold, but they had fun!

Spring time always gets me excited for summer so when the sun is shining you gotta get outside. Even if you are homeschooling! Stella outside on a sunny day probably when we were homeschooling.

Our friends had some pigs so we had to go visit them when they were still little. I love pigs!

Spring blooms make me super happy! And this tree always makes me happy in the spring. It is so pretty!

This is the view I see a lot these days...sitting at the dance studio waiting for the girls to be done. It is fun to watch them from the window.

Hans and I went on an adventure together to buy ourselves a new to us boat from a gal in Idaho. We left early on a Friday morning and drove I think 10 or 11 hours to get there. We ended up buying the boat and then we drove back an hour to Boise to spend the night at a hotel. It all worked out really well and we were/are pretty happy with our purchase and our new to us boat. It is a lot bigger than other boat and lot heavier to tow. The trip was a fun little get away for us!

When we pulled in the driveway this is what had happened to the trailer. Already something to fix.

We decided to join a small group at our church. These friends are so great. We have been enjoying connecting with these friends and discussing the sermon and praying together.  The kids have a lot of fun together too!

We had a really cold spring so it was challenging transplanting and keeping all my little tomatoes growing and with enough light this spring. I was anxious to get them outside, but they got pretty lanky in the meantime and I had to prop them up.

I took pictures for some sweet friends. They turned out so cute! This was one of them!

Spring time flowers!! The promise of warmer weather coming!

Well this was a fiasco! I was so proud of myself for finally after 10 years deciding to clean my ovens so I turned on the cleaning cycle and this killed my double ovens. It melted a heating element and my oven died mid cleaning cycle and it locked the oven doors to boot. Well fortunately, I have an amazing husband who figured out with the help of you tube how to get the doors open and off and what was wrong. He ordered a new part for around $20 and was able to fix it a few days later when the part arrived from Amazon.  And I did get the ovens all cleaned up! But lesson learned don't use the self clean to clean your oven!!

Silly cat has to explore everything!

More pretty tree and spring pictures!

I finally decided to take down my Christmas cards. I do love to have them up for a bit to enjoy seeing my friends!

The girls decided to go to a formal dance at our co-op for the first time. Olivia and Claire went along with their friend Kelsey. Would have been to have Jada too, but she had a track meet.  Kelsey came to our house to get ready. I got some pictures before they left but then they were off for a fun night of dinner and dancing with their friends.

Here are my girls and my extra brown haired daughter. They all looked so so pretty! LOVE THEM!!

More cleaning up...The girls all shower now and don't take baths so it was time for the bath toys to go...sniff, sniff.

Happy spring!!

We teach children's church and I just had to take a picture of these cute kids. Little Sammy the boy in the blue sweater was so cute and he moved away soon after this.

A fun picture at co-op of these two girls. I think it was maybe twin day?? They do look like they could be twins sometimes.

These are pictures from when we tried out a Nature Group. The kids were learning about seeding and then they also made some berry crisp or root beer floats.

We had attended all of Jada's senior nights at first volleyball and then basketball so of course we couldn't miss her last sport and senior night at track! This one was a bit different, but still fun and it was fun to watch Jada run and jump! She is really good at track and got a scholarship at CWU where she is attending now.

She got such a fast time! That is her at the top at 25.47 seconds!

Kelsey was running too so we got to see her a well!

Finally the end of April started to warm up enough for me to bring my baby tomato plants outside for chunks of time to harden up.

And our cold spring went to instant summer the very end of April where we got a hot enough day to take our new boat out!! The water was still so frigid and cold, but the kids did get in a tiny bit! The air was warm and our new boat was fun!!

My handsome guy!

My hydrangeas from Jodie for my birthday!

And a pretty sunset to end off April!

So there you go! April is finally in the books! Next up May...
