Thanksgiving Fun with Cousins

This Thanksgiving was a special treat as we were able to have my brother and his wife and kids, and  my mom dad come out for 5 nights and 4 days over Thanksgiving.  They arrived on Tuesday evening of making the LONG drive over here.  Diedrich only asked 500 or more times when they would get here and Piper was ready  to head home around Federal Way, but they made it!   Wednesday was suppose to be nice weather but unfortunately it was not!  We decided to head to the zoo, but the zoo we wanted to go to was closed. Can you see it was that kind of day?  We instead rode the ferry over and went to the Woodland Park zoo.  It was still raining but we made the best of it.  This made me seriously miss the San Diego zoo though.  Overall the kids had fun despite the rain (which did finally clear off) and the smallness of the zoo.

They thought this lizard was pretty cool!!

This baby gorilla was quite the hit and super cute and funny!  The kids loved it!!

The lemurs were also quite entertaining!  And super pretty!

On the ways home we stopped at The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner before heading the rest of the way home.

The next day was Thanksgiving and a great day to be home, play games, nap, watch football and eat.  Fun story about football, my brother is not into football at all!  But him and his wife won tickets to the Super Bowl this year so Hans watched a game with them and was teaching them a bit about the game so they will know a little bit before the big game.  What a fun trip they will have...I am a bit jealous about that!!

Friday we were off to get a Christmas tree in the morning from our friend's Christmas tree farm.

That afternoon, we headed out for some bowling.  Bowling is always fun for the kids and they did pretty awesome this time around.

Saturday was a mix of fun.  First we went to downtown Poulsbo and got doughnuts from Sluy's Bakery. Second we walked around the waterfront a bit and saw the boats, and then we went on a free horse carriage ride that happened to be going on that morning.

Then we headed to the Bremerton waterfront and had some lunch.  It was cold so Hans took my brother and his family, and my dad onto base to see the carriers and where Hans works.  And I took the girls and Grandma for a short walk by the park across the street and then we headed home.

The last night pictures of the cousin bedroom sleeping arrangement.  It was all bed!

And after the cousins took off we had to take our obligatory thanksgiving calendar picture.  As you can see Olivia was less than enthusiastic and helpful in this task.

Another great Thanksgiving in the books!  It went too fast and was too short.  Can't wait for the cousins to come again someday soon!
