The second part of our Montana trip we headed to West Yellowstone to see Hans' parents and stay at their new cabin. We headed out Friday morning and brought my parents along to do some snowmobiling and play in the snow together. The trip down was uneventful, but a bit long. Saturday morning we woke up and headed out for some snowmobiling. The big 3 had lots of fun and after one trip with Hans on the big sled I decided it would be too tough to take Raelyn out with us so she stayed back with the Grandmas.
Sunday we headed out for a snowmobiling trip but one of them broke just after we crossed the lake. The girls got impatient and cold and so I headed back to the cabin with them and that was the extent of their snowmobiling for the day. The guys went out after they got it fixed and a great time. The ladies took the girls sledding in the afternoon while the guys went ice fishing. The girls had lots of fun playing on the hill. Although the big three didn't use the sleds much. They mostly slid around on just their snow pants. Raelyn on the other hand had a blast being pulled up the hill and then let to slide down. She loved it and wanted to go again and again and again.
Monday morning before we left for Whitehall, Hans took the snowmobile out for one last ride so I could get some pictures of him. They turned out pretty cool!
That afternoon in Whitehall we did what the girls had really been looking forward to...riding the horses! When asked they said they would chose riding and feeding the horses over snowmobiling any day. They had fun despite the cold and look forward to going back in warmer weather.
On Tuesday we made the long trek home. We wanted to split up the 12 hour drive for the kids sake, but at the same time we were anxious to get home and try to get our house semi put together before Hans had to go back to work. So we toughed it out and went the whole way. The beginning went pretty well, but the last 4 hours were pretty tough and filled with lots of whining and crying. I was glad to have it over with and be back home. Since we have been working like crazy to get our house put together and we have been back to school and activities so it doesn't leave a lot of time for doing just that or even getting blog posts up. So here you go the shortened version of the trip (especially since this is the second time I have typed this, as my first draft was not saved! ARG!). Next up Raelyn's 18 month update and then hopefully soon (well like maybe March) I will be feeling like the house is put together enough to get some pictures up ;-)
