Love the Sun

Last weekend reminded us of why we loved being in San Diego, the hot weather. It was in the 80's for about 4 days and was so great. We went to the park on both Thursday and Friday evening. Friday evening it was so hot Olivia was flushed from playing and we had to put sun screen on her. On Saturday we went to Viking Fest in Poulsbo to watch some of her friends dance. The dancing was great and the little kids were so cute to watch. Olivia didn't want to leave and now she has been talking about starting dance lessons. We are planning on putting her in dance when she turns 3 and she is very excited for her birthday to come now so that she can start dance lessons. We are also hoping that this will help to motivate her to potty train as she really shows no signs of wanting to go on the potty. The rest of Saturday and Sunday we moved a bunch of stuff to our new house.
Now I have a bad a cold and we still have to finish moving, but I know we will get through. Somehow we always make it through. Olivia has been really great and she has been a really big help lately, for the most part. She always makes me laugh with the funny things she picks up. Whenever we have to go in the car she says, "Claire is going to cry, she doesn't like her car seat." It is so sweet that she notices that Claire often cries in the car seat. She is also looking forward to heading to Montana in a few weeks. She said today, " I go see Grammie and Josh and Papa. And there is lots of toys, the kitchen." I was impressed that she remembered so much as we haven't been there since Christmas. I too look forward to getting away from all the work I have to do here and taking the girls to see my family. It will be lots of fun.
Olivia is also rolling right into the big sister "bossy roll" quite well. She is already bossing Claire around and telling her not to kick her or touch her when she is kicking around on the floor. I often have to explain to her that the baby has no control of her body yet and kind of just kicks around, and that she needs to move away if she doesn't want to be kicked.

Quick Update

YAY! I can get something done they are both sleeping.
Well Claire had her check-up today and weighed in at 11 lbs. 12 oz. and 23 inches long. She is getting so big so fast I can't believe it. Well I can because I remember how fast it went with Olivia. Hope all you moms out there had a great mothers day. I had a great one being home with my family and enjoying my girls. Hans did a lot of sweet things to make the day extra special and help me to know that I am appreciated for all the hard work I do. Thank you! I know I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful husband, and two great girls in my life.

Playing at the Park

Dad, you are too heavy!

Olivia had a great time at the park. We went to the Silverdale Waterfront Park and it was a really nice evening. She was able to slide and swing. She even found a couple of older girls to play with for a little while. After we left she kept saying, "I had fun at the park!". It is so fun to watch her become very independent and have so much fun playing. Hans and I always have a good time as well as we usually get a little time to just talk and not be interupted.

The pains of building

Hans and I are still dealing with the building of this house which has been really hard this last week. Hans has had to be on the phone a lot to the county to try to get figured out what needs to be done to finish up our storm water permit and then be able to get our occupancy permit. It has been really difficult to get a hold of the people we need to get a hold of. We found out this week that we have to change the filter that we put into our catch basin, which will take until next week to get the proper filter here. We had a small victory on Friday when we found out that we could get a final for the house scheduled next Tuesday so that we can at least know what needs to be changed at the house so we can pass that final hopefully shortly after getting the filter here and installed and getting our storm water permit finalled. We are just praying that we can get all of our county work done and get us moved in by the end of the month as more problems will be caused if we can not and of course more money will have to go out the door. We will keep you updated and hopefully soon we will have pictures of us living in our new house.

2 months

Olivia got a little camera as a party favor at Jada's birthday and has been taking "pictuers" of everyone and everything in our house. She will say, "Say cheese" or "Smile Claire". It is pretty cute.
Look at that cute smile.

Well Claire is two months as of yesterday. I can't believe how fast the first two months have gone and I know it will continue to go so fast. It makes me sad because I really love having a little baby in the house, but soon she will be rolling, and sitting, and crawling and then walking, which are all really fun as well, but just different than that little baby. She is already getting so big I can't believe it. We have her doctors appointment on Monday so I am excited to see just how big she is. I will try to give an update afterwards.

Congrats...it's a boy

Congrats to Kevin and Anna who found out yesterday that they are having a baby boy. We can't wait for Olivia and Claire's new cousin to arrive. It will be so fun to have another baby around.

Our Girls

I finally got a good one of them both.

It is hard to get Olivia not to give the totally cheesy smile.

I don't always have a lot of time to take pictures but when I finally decide to take them then I take a whole bunch at one time. I got some really cute ones this time, but most of them were either good of Olivia or good of Claire, but only a few were good of both of them. Claire is almost 2 months next week. I can't believe it. It has gone so fast as always. I also can't believe that we are still not in our house. Oh well! What do you do? The video shows how it often goes when I talk to Claire, Olivia repeats everything I say. It is so cute though and she loves talking to and holding Claire whenever she is awake.

Frustrated...but hanging in there

Olivia and I are ready for spring to be here.

Olivia loves dancing around in her new ballerina outfit. I love it when she will let me put in a pony tail for her, which isn't very often, but I think she just looks so cute with one.

Here is Claire doing her favorite thing still, sleeping.

Last Friday we took advantage of the nice weather and instead of working out at the house, like we usually do, we went to Island Lake Park and Olivia rode her trike and played at the playground. She hasn't figured out how to pedal so good thing we have the trike that has a nice long handle that we can push and steer her with.
We have been very frustrated this last week with our house as it is completely finished and ready for us to move in, but we are having problems with finishing up our SDAP permit(which is our storm water permit). We had to have some people come out and fix the infiltration pit that we put in last fall and we are hoping that now we will be able to get the permit on our SDAP and then we will be able to get our occupancy permit after that. So hopefully in the next few days we will be able to get all our permit work and then be able to move in. We will try to keep you updated on our never ending saga of building a house.
