Indoor Soccer

This year Olivia played indoor soccer with the girls (and coach) from her fall team.  I had never seen indoor soccer and thought it would be the same as outdoor but it a little different.  They play in a room with walls so there is no out of bounds and consequently are running and playing hard the whole time.  This was also the first they had played with a goalie so that was something new for them.  The team did not do very well mostly because we didn't do any practices just games every Saturday and a lot of it was new to them.  But it was good for them to be exposed to indoor soccer, work together as a team again, and get to work on some of the skills they had learned in the fall.  There was also boys on their team, but all of them had never played soccer before so they weren't much help against teams that practiced and had lots of boys.  It was still a fun 8 week session and we look forward to seeing many of the girls again in the fall.

Olivia really did great and even made a couple of goals in different games.  She really hustles and plays hard!!

Hans and I on the other hand felt a bit crazy each game trying to keep the other 3 entertained and happy.  It was hard to watch the game for them with the wall so they had to stand on a chair or stool we brought and standing the whole game and watching 3 kids.  Not so relaxing (two of which were usually crying or cranky and the middle two were often fighting)!!

Here are a few pictures from a few of the games.

Bath Time and Birthdays

Up to this point Raelyn has been deathly afraid of the water and highly dislikes baths.  I have decided that her fear of water is probably due to either a) the fact that she was born in the water and she now is afraid of it or more likely b) she is a 4th child who rarely gets a bath because we are so busy!

But this was her first big girl bath with her big sisters since she is sitting up so well now....AND after a bit of fussing she warmed up and liked it!!!

 Olivia reads...all the time!!

I did put her in the bath tub with her big sisters again the other night and she screamed bloody murder again...I think it was because she was hungry ;-)

Our little cutie...playing with daddy's freshly folded laundry.  Yes, daddy is the best and helps mommy a ton with all the folding that has to happen!

I celebrated my birthday last week as well.  My family spoiled me and it was a great day.  Flowers and a card from daddy.  Dinner out with my family (who all behaved well!!) and cards from each of my girls.  And my good friend Jodie made me a cream puff dessert that was so yummy!!  Oh and an awesome gift from my wonderful husband of a new lens for my camera!  I was so excited!!

A little bit of this...

...and a little bit of that.

Our cats are getting big, and yet I think sometimes they think they are babies (real babies!).

It is still hard to get good pics of the girls together.  Olivia and Claire wore these outfits together, then Claire and Aubrey and now Aubrey and Raelyn...so cute!

It is still hard to get a good picture of a baby who is on the move!  Here she is in her "Got Breastmilk?" shirt, but couldn't actually get a shot of the shirt.  HA!

The girls are getting braver and actually went outside this morning to enjoy the nice weather without being prompted.  I came downstairs from putting Raelyn down for a nap and they were getting their coats and shoes on to go outside.  Olivia did great playing outside with them and helping them out.  Warmed this momma's heart as I took advantage of a few quiet moments inside.

The day I took 8 month pictures of Raelyn I got these cute ones of Aubrey. (You can see part of my light stand in the picture.  I love the videos of them playing and the way they talk.  Aubrey calls all boys or prince dolls...dads!  So adorable!

On Claire's actual birthday she was so excited to open her gifts.  We had cinnamon rolls and eggs for breakfast and then she got to open her gifts from her grandparents.  She got a card from Great Grandma Betty with 5 dollars for her and a dollar for each of her sisters.

We went for a bike ride to enjoy the nice weather.
And then she got to open her gifts from mom and dad that night.

It has been a busy month of March!  There is more to come....
