It seems like just yesterday she arrived!! And now she is a month old already.
It is no secret that I love babies and since we are thinking this is our last one I am soaking our sweet little Raelyn up. It hasn't been the easiest to do this with 3 older children and trip, but every chance I get I just sit and hold her and love on her. Since she isn't really doing a whole lot yet except sleeping, eating, and pooping (with a few short times of being awake and happy)...I thought I would list some of my favorite things about newborns so I can look back and remember all the things I love most about babies.
I love:
- a sleeping baby!!
- their scrunchy faces they make
- big yawns
- the hicups
- how little they are
- their stretching faces
- the way they stick their bottoms out when you pick them and they are just waking up
- all their little sweet grunts and groans
- little hands and feet
- their soft skin
- their soft bald heads
- giving them kisses...all the time
- did I mention how little they are!!
- watching them sleep especially when they are in a light sleep and their eyes are moving and they are making little faces
- their sleep smiles
- nursing and how little they are!!
- the way their feet bend up to their legs and how flexible they are
Here are a few pictures from the month, starting with her first day.

I have been meaning to write down some of the funny things the girls have been saying since the baby has arrived, but haven't taken the time to, so I thought now is as good as time as any before I forget. I of course got lots of questions after the baby was first born.
Not too many about how she got out (fortunately), but they were interested to know why I wore my jammies for 3 days? Well because mommy is tired, sore, and it hurt "a little" when the baby came out so I need to recover girls!
Claire: Mommy, I will feed the baby lots of food when she is hungry? Well honey, the baby doesn't eat food yet. Well where is her teeth? Well she doesn't have teeth yet, she won't get them for awhile when she starts eating food, right now she just needs milk from mommy. When the baby is nursing: How does the milk get into that brown thing mom? Well it just does, that is they way God made our body. He made us to feed our babies.
Claire: When I get older I am going to name my baby Raelyn. I am going to have lots of babies and I want all girls, maybe one boy.
Aubrey: "I hold it!!" "I want it!!" "Baby cryin'" "Hi, baby!" "Baby, nummies?" "Rae-rae"
Olivia: Well Olivia mostly just asks to hold the baby. She was so sweet when I had told her she was going to VBS a few weeks ago. She came downstairs crying and saying she didn't want to go to VBS which is unlike her. When I asked her why she said, "Because I will miss, Raelyn!" It was so sweet and I reassured her that although we would miss her we would be fine and she would be home in the afternoon. I love how close the girls are and how they miss each other when they are away from each other.
They have said lots of sweet, cute, and funny things over the last month and of course I can't remember most of them. Maybe I will start writing them down better ;-)
Happy One Month Raelyn! We love you so much!!
