Raelyn~1 month

It seems like just yesterday she arrived!!  And now she is a month old already.

It is no secret that I love babies and since we are thinking this is our last one I am soaking our sweet little Raelyn up.   It hasn't been the easiest to do this with 3 older children and trip, but every chance I get I just sit and hold her and love on her.  Since she isn't really doing a whole lot yet except sleeping, eating, and pooping (with a few short times of being awake and happy)...I thought I would  list some of my favorite things about newborns so I can look back and remember all the things I love most about babies.

I love:
  • a sleeping baby!!
  • their scrunchy faces they make
  • big yawns
  • the hicups
  • how little they are
  • their stretching faces
  • the way they stick their bottoms out when you pick them and they are just waking up
  • all their little sweet grunts and groans
  • little hands and feet
  • their soft skin
  • their soft bald heads
  • giving them kisses...all the time
  • did I mention how little they are!!
  • watching them sleep especially when they are in a light sleep and their eyes are moving and they are making little faces
  • their sleep smiles
  • nursing and how little they are!!
  • the way their feet bend up to their legs and how flexible they are
I really just LOVE new little babies.  And the girls have been loving on her too.  It has been a pretty good transition so far.  It is definitely tougher having 4 though especially when I am alone with all 4 of them and don't have any extra hands.  Aubrey has been doing pretty well, but I can tell when she is more tired as she doesn't want others helping her with seat belts, getting out of the car, changing, eating, etc.  She just wants mom or dad.  I think she has been a bit worn out with all the company and now being in MT.  There is definitely more crying in the house these days!!  Sometimes it feels as if I just live in a circus, but even so I love it.  And I constantly try to remind myself that I am going to miss this when it is a gone.  So I try to remember all the cute things they do and they way they play so nice instead of the tantrums and crying and tough parts.

Here are a few pictures from the month, starting with her first day.

1 month today

I have been meaning to write down some of the funny things the girls have been saying since the baby has arrived, but haven't taken the time to, so I thought now is as good as time as any before I forget.  I of course got lots of questions after the baby was first born.

Not too many about how she got out (fortunately), but they were interested to know why I wore my jammies for 3 days?  Well because mommy is tired, sore, and it hurt "a little" when the baby came out so I need to recover girls!

Claire: Mommy, I will feed the baby lots of food when she is hungry?  Well honey, the baby doesn't eat food yet.  Well where is her teeth?  Well she doesn't have teeth yet, she won't get them for awhile when she starts eating food, right now she just needs milk from mommy.  When the baby is nursing:  How does the milk get into that brown thing mom?  Well it just does, that is they way God made our body.  He made us to feed our babies

Claire: When I get older I am going to name my baby Raelyn.  I am going to have lots of babies and I want all girls, maybe one boy.

Aubrey:  "I hold it!!"  "I want it!!"  "Baby cryin'"  "Hi, baby!"  "Baby, nummies?"  "Rae-rae"

Olivia:  Well Olivia mostly just asks to hold the baby.  She was so sweet when I had told her she was going to VBS a few weeks ago.  She came downstairs crying and saying she didn't want to go to VBS which is unlike her.  When I asked her why she said, "Because I will miss, Raelyn!"  It was so sweet and I reassured her that although we would miss her we would be fine and she would be home in the afternoon.  I love how close the girls are and how they miss each other when they are away from each other.

They have said lots of sweet, cute, and funny things over the last month and of course I can't remember most of them.  Maybe I will start writing them down better ;-)

Happy One Month Raelyn!  We love you so much!!

Raelyn-2 weeks and Newborn Photos

Our sweet baby is 2 weeks already!!  I know, I know I always talk about how fast time flies, but really it does!!  She is getting big already when we had her 2 week appointment on Monday she weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces so she was back up above her birth weight.  The doctor thought she looked great!  She is sleeping lots and nursing lots still these days but also has a couple good awake times when she looks around and observes the craziness of our house.  She sleeps a couple long chunks during the day, likes to be held but does pretty good sleeping in her bassinet as well.  At night she is sleeping pretty well and only wakes a couple times to nurse.

Hans is back to work now until we head to Montana the end of next week and so far it is going ok.  There are bouts of craziness but there was with three too so it was bound to happen with four!!

Here are some of the pictures I have taken of our little sweetie since she was born.  I started when she was 4 days old and have been taking some each day that I can.  Will have to call it good for newborn shots as I have too much to do to get ready for our trip.  I haven't even had much time to edit them so most of them are straight out of the camera.  Even so...I had a lot of favorites ;-)

Love!!
This little girl still loves holding her sister!!  The newness hasn't worn off and she loves to get a chance to hold her.

Love these little angel shots!  Thanks Carrie for the cutest prop!!  You totally get me ;-)

This sweet little hat was made by my midwife!  Love it!!

Love the cocoon my mom made and the pod in the first pictures!!  Thanks mom!!

Little cutie!!

Big yawns...so cute!

These pictures were taken by Olivia.  She did pretty good listening to my instructions on how to get the shot.  I still had to do some editing though ;-)

SO Tiny!!

Just one of the girls!!  Pretty fitting ;-)

I wanted to get a good shot of all 4 girls so maybe I can get another canvas made or at least have a new one for the wall.  I think these turned out pretty good!  I was glad that Aubrey cooperated sometimes she can be tough, but then again so can the big girls.  And Raelyn did awesome sleeping through it all.

Love these girls!!

Lots to choose from...which one(s) is your favorite(s)?  And if you are going to have a newborn and live close...I want to come take pictures!  Newborns are the best!
