Wow! Here it is September and I am only on March...ack! Can we say "NO TIME?!!" Oh well, we have been busy and had a super fun and busy summer, but hopefully I will get that posted someday in the near future...maybe! Well without further ado...here is the rest of March.
We returned from Hawaii on March 8th (would have been my Grandma's 95th birthday...I sure miss her!). The next day, on March 9th, Claire turned 15!! 15!! Really?!! How did that happen?? Well it did! Old enough to start driver's education...she is growing up fast!! We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and crepes for dinner and I think we got back to school, because well, we had school and unpacking to do. Sadly, I didn't get Claire a birthday party planned (she didn't really want one). And I never got a dessert made for her either. It is hard when our birthdays are practically back to back. We love you, Claire!
My little tomato plants were all sprouted and just a bit spindly but looking good when I got home from Hawaii!
On March 17th, the Theodore Roosevelt air craft carrier also known as the "Big Stick" or the 71 was headed out of port as it had just finished its 16 month upkeep in the shipyard. Hans was on this project as the Deputy to the CT. We decided to go with friends to watch the 71 leave and wave goodbye. It was a cool morning, but it was beautiful and it was fun. It was an early morning, and I got a little lost trying to find it as my directions were not good on my car, but finally we found it and just in time. So here are some pics of the TR heading off to San Diego!

The day started with watching the Theodore Roosevelt head out of town and ended with our traditional St. Patrick's day dinner and some St. Patrick's day pictures. We had corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots with Irish whiskey cream sauce and lime sherbert floats. Our favorite! For dessert we had key lime cupcakes that were AMAZING!! Just writing this post is making me want to make all this food...soon! LOL! I can't wait till St. Patrick's day again! Haha!
Just a few days later was my birthday! I won't say how old I am...lol! My sweet friend Jodie made me a lemon cheesecake for my birthday. We went out to eat and it was a fun night of celebrating with my family.
And with Liv having a job, I actually got a present that I didn't buy for myself. It is fun having her have a job and a little extra money she can spend now and then.
These teens are cute! They love hanging out and are really good friends.
On March 24th we held a game night at our church. I decided to provide some fun with an old fashioned Bible drill and some minute to win it games. It was a crazy and fun filled night. Lots of games played, prizes won, and yummy dinner was had. Here are some pictures form the night.

My tomatoes were getting so big! I had to transplant them into bigger pots!
Aubrey tried on these shoes and they were so cute on her! Haha! We didn't buy them, but boy did they look cute and make her look so grown up!
I had already finished painting the rest of the house grey, but hadn't decided what color to paint the bonus room. I was thinking greens and blues, but decided to just paint it grey like the rest of the house. I had a lot of extra dark grey so decided to do two walls in the dark grey and 2 in the light grey. I really like how it turned out and it looks so fresh and pretty. This fall I have more painting in my plans. But this time just a bathroom and probably some ceilings and trim painting. It won't be as exciting as the walls were! Here are the before and after pics.
The colors don't look quite right in the pictures. The curtains are blue and the couch is green. I like the dark color and the light together.
A busy, busy month! Vacation, birthdays, church party, St. Patrick's day and painting. Finally we are on to April! I might get caught up some day!
