These pictures taken of Olivia this spring when she was still 9 1/2. What is new with her? You may notice one big change...she got contacts!!! She got her first pair of contacts the end of April at her annual eye appointment. This seems a bit young for most, but our eye doctor was willing to let her have contacts if we thought she was responsible enough. She had been wanting them for about 6 months as her glasses were slipping off her face, misplaced, or just plain annoying. Plus we had bought her some glasses with transition lenses but they never fit well and were always loosening up so she couldn't wear sun glasses. All in all she wanted to try contacts and we thought she was ready so she did. She did amazing when first getting them in, she was persistent didn't get overly frustrated and had them in within 10 minutes in each eye. I remember it taking a lot longer fore me to learn! Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately...since her prescription is already so bad) Hans and I wear contacts so we can help her with tips, keeping them clean, etc. And we are never without solution or cases!! The next week she practiced getting them in and got faster each day. Now she is a pro and loves that she can wear contacts since her eye sight is pretty poor {sad face} it is nice to be able to see!! She may be one of those people who gets laser surgery in her 20s....who knows? Guess we will see!
Olivia still loves to read, dance and her new interest is horses! She has always loved animals and can't wait till we can get some more pets (probably not a horse though!). She is a hard worker when she puts her mind to it. She likes to craft and cook as of late and is getting pretty good at both. She is our night owl and is often up late reading in her bed.
Here are some of my favorite spring pictures of her. She is not a fan of getting her pictures taken as of late so convincing her to get into it is a bit hard. Hopefully she comes out of this phase soon!!
We love you Livy Joy!!!
