May was another month of quarantining at least according to the government. As time went on and we were seeing more reports about how serious the virus was for our age group and the actual numbers in our county we become less worried about the actual virus (although knowing it is for sure serious for some who get it), we began to worry more about the economy and the many businesses suffering from the shutdown and the draconian and often ridiculous rules being implemented. The 14 days to slow the curve was extended further and further. More and more things being cancelled for good. It was hard to have the dance shows completely cancelled after the girls hard work and I was really loving the dances that were being worked on in the girls' classes. It made me really sad! AWANA too was completely cancelled and the girls didn't get their awards or get to run their fully made grand prix cars.
Even though there was a lot of sad and hard things, the weather was pretty nice for May which helped our mood and we were thankful for our big yard and nice weather to enjoy. We worked outside a lot, got a lot of school done, and had extra time for movies and games. Hans was still mostly working from home which was nice to have him around more. We celebrated Mother's Day with Hans' family coming over the weekend. And started to slowly get together with more friends (outside) to keep us sane. And food pickup became a great way to eat "out". Zoom continued for many things like my workouts 3 times a week, book clubs, dance classes (some), and E4M and small group. We got tired of seeing people just on screens, but also thankful for the technology to connect even when far apart. And really loved the commuting! Lol!

Well this is kind of silly, but I never got Valentine pictures done back in February and it was on my to do list till May! LOL! So well I took them in May outside and only the younger 3. No Valentine pictures of Olivia this year for the calendar...sniff, sniff.

We were definitely missing out camping in May. With the nice weather and all. So this was my faux camping! Lol! Also was prepping for Hans' family to come and stay for Mother's Day weekend. We set the camper up for the family to stay in. Just like camping! So fun!
It was so fun to have Anna and the boys and Mary and Eric with us for the weekend. We had a lot of fun and it was a gorgeous weekend for weather! Trampoline jumping, pool playing, badminton, water fights, water balloon fights, camp fires and s'mores. Can't ask for a better weekend!

Olivia jumped up to touch the top of the door and the molding fell off the top of the door. We thought it was pretty funny! Fortunately it was an easy fix.

I'm not sure why Raelyn is looking so grouchy in this picture. They love to put on these fake nails, but they just do not stick on and they get so mad that they fall off so fast and then I get mad. Ha! A recipe for disaster!

For a month our good friends the Kopps were in Montana. My friend Jodie's dad was nearing the end of his battle with pancreatic cancer. It was so hard for them to be gone a month and lose her dad. But I know it was also a blessing that she was able to be there for him and her mom. So when they were getting ready to come back we (me and the Mills family) went over to their house to mow lawn, clean up the house, and put some food and meals in the fridge to ease their transition back home. It was nice to be able to bless them just a little after such a hard loss of their dad and grandpa.
I feel like the Kopps are part of my family! I love them all so much. So hard to have their dad gone. We all miss him!! So thankful we will see him again one day in glory!
And now for the end of May...more badminton!

Raelyn's last time in her car seat! Ready for a booster only. I guess she is almost 8 at this point...sniff, sniff.
Always hard for me to get rid of the girls' too small clothes especially after they all 4 have worn them. So to help me separate with them I take a picture so I can remember their clothes. So here are some that were passed on the end of May.
And on the last day of May we headed for Montana to see my family and Grandma. With no dance shows we went early since July was full with camping and then Hans going to San Diego. So off we went! Always a long drive! It was made a bit harder with COVID. Hard to find places that were open for food, bathrooms that were open were also challenging. We found if we could stop at a rest stop that helped. We made it and were glad to get to Montana where honestly it felt like a breath of fresh air as far restrictions. Was so super nice to get out of the house and away! Seriously the girls had barely been out of the house or seen many people for months!! It was nice to get away and you will see in the next post we had fun in Montana!
