Raelyn ~6 months

Our little Rae-rae is getting SO Big!!  I have been working on this post in my head for a while now since she turned 6 months a few weeks ago and now is almost 7 months.  From 5 months till now Raelyn has been growing up and changing so much.  At just after 5 months she started pushing herself up on her arms and feet and then knees.  Today she is crawling!!  She started crawling forward about a week ago.  She still isn't very fast, but each day she gets faster.  Baby proofing is going to have to take on a whole new level.  I have felt like babies #3 and #4 are pretty easy until they start moving.  Then it gets tougher to watch them, keep little things out of their mouths and once they start walking they are in to everything!! Anyways, we aren't there yet, but getting closer to the craziness of 4 little mess makers!!

Here are some pictures from before Christmas that I didn't (or don't think I did) post because I kept thinking I will post those in her 6 month post...

Pushing up and rolling over...

Playing with the kitty!  They love to come lay on her since she can't push them off or throw them in the bathroom like Aubrey does.

She's been drooling!  No teeth yet though...maybe someday soon.

See the little toys....

Cute butterfly bottom...this outfit is from Great Grandma Betty

She sure is perfectly cute!!
Her sisters still love to love on her.  They still usually ask at least once a day to hold her.  I love that!

Sweet baby feet.  I have had these shoes since Olivia and all 4 of the girls have worn them.

Getting a bit better at the crawling stance.  And one of her usual looks, biting the bottom lip.

Because I don't want to forget holding my sweet babies in my arms at night.

Christmas morning.  Getting a cold but still happy.

On January 4th I took Raelyn's six month pictures.  It is an all day project usually and I definitely prefer to do pictures outside, but since that isn't an option in the winter I do my best to get some cute indoor ones with the few back drops I have.  Raelyn is at the age where she loves to chew on things and I know next time I do pictures she will be moving.  So I did my best to get some cute ones of her although she preferred to just chew on all my props and not give me her simply adorable smile.  Here are some of my favorites though.

Love these baby feet!

At Raelyn's 6 month check-up on December 28th she weighed 17 pounds and I will have to look at my calendar at put in her height when I get back home.  Raelyn is still our biggest baby as the other girls were around 17 pounds at age one.  She has super long legs and arms and is already filling out her 6 to 9 month clothes pretty well.   I do believe she was miss weighed at her 4 month check up as she had lost weight at this one.  Oh well.  You can tell she is happy, healthy and plenty chunky and my pediatrician knows me and wasn't worried as she is obviously doing well.  She still has some sort of sensitivity to food and I am hoping to get some results back on a blood test I did to hopefully shed light on mine and hers sensitivity and eliminate it from our diet so we can both get better.  I will have to write up a post on that another day though.  As of now I still think it is corn and too much sugar.

Our little Raelyn is such a sweet heart, such a blessing, and such a great little baby.  She sleeps well and is a great napper.  She is definitely my easiest to get to sleep and then lay down.  She is pretty happy most of the time and such a little cuddler.  She loves her momma, but isn't afraid of strangers yet.  She really thinks she wants to eat, but the few times we have given her something she makes a face and often spits it out.  I am not really ready for her to be eating a ton of solids so we are taking it slow.  She has had a tiny bit of banana, avocado, french fries, and a few sweet potato puffs.  She is drooling quite a bit and probably working on that first tooth.  She jabbers and has started squealing more.  She is smiley and giggly.  She loves to have you blow on and/or kiss her neck.  It makes her giggle. She loves to be with everyone and take it all in.  She has learned to "spit" and Olivia calls it or blow out her mouth.  She chews on everything and has found a new love for all things paper.

We just can't get enough of this little sweetie!!  We love you Rae!  Happy 6 month birthday!

Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve we did some cleaning and projects around the house.  Hans worked on a trench that he has been digging in the back yard to help with some water issues we have in this very wet land we live in.  And I got our extremely dry tree taken down and the living room re-arranged.  We were going to head to our church for a game night but it was cancelled last minute so we had our good friends come over to hang out and play games.  Our kids are all the same ages so they had fun just playing and watching some movies together and we were actually able to play some games.  We ALL (minus Raelyn) stayed up till midnight and toasted the new year and shot off some little confetti poppers (the kids love them!!)  They didn't get till bed till after 1.  Raelyn of course didn't get the memo that we all went to bed really late so she was up at her normal time of 7.  The big girls had to be woken at 11 am.  It took a few days to get them back to the point of having enough sleep as they were bit whiny for a couple days, but it was fun!!  Here are a few pictures from the night.

Raelyn was so tired!!  She went to sleep shortly after this.

I am not one to make new year's resolutions, because I never keep them.  But I have chosen a word I would like to strive towards this year and that is BALANCE.  I need balance in so many things and it is something I am always working towards. Balance in food...not eating too much in general, but also eating enough healthy food yet allowing some unhealthy fun food so we don't go too crazy and offering all these options and good habits to our girls.  Balance in time which is all encompassing. Like balancing home life with having time to spend with family and yet get the chores done without constantly working.  Having time for my girls together and individually, time for my husband and time for me occasionally too.  Choosing what is important and not distracting by the urgent but unimportant.
So with that I am off to get a few things done so I have time to be with my family this evening.  Hope you all have a great new year!!
