Not too exciting January

January started off with a BANG! After a long night celebrating the new year with our double party we agreed to head up to the mountains on the first to shoot guns with some friends. It was really cold and we were a bit tired, but it was fun. We had a fire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. I also brought along the extra homemade oreos from the night before and left over 7 layer dip and chips. We all had fun shooting and I think each of the girls shot a little. We decided we need to get a little .22 caliber revolver as that was easy and fun for the girls to shoot. Here are some pictures from the day.

January was not too eventful this year. January is always dreary and dark, filled with lots of school. Here are some random pictures I took over the first week or so.

I began a 40 sugar fast the second day of January and it actually went pretty well. And overall I enjoyed it although it was hard at times. I am trying to figure out of I can do it again or make myself just go mostly back off sugar, because I did really see some health benefits from it.

We got a Moana puzzle this year, but the interest was lost and we never did finish it...sad!

The second week of January Hans headed to San Diego for some meetings and then to get on the ship for a couple days. While he was away we did school, lost power twice once was pretty long and Olivia needed to work on school so we decided to try and get the generator going, but I tried and tried and couldn't get it going. I called in a life-line in Todd Mills and he came down and was able to help me get it going. Thank you for friends when your husband is out to sea and unreachable. Even if he had been reachable I still think I would have needed a life-line to get it going. We also got to watch Kelsey play basketball on Saturday afternoon.

Here's some pics of Hans on the ship and in the helicopter that he was flown off the ship in. I was thankful that he was able to call me once because he was not able to get off of the ship the day he thought he was going to, and fortunately was able to call and let me know he was going to be delayed till the next day.

We like to have the Greisemer girls over and on this day they decided to get in the hot tub, borrowing suits from my girls. They are cute!

They also love to make funny videos. I think this had to do with that. I'm not quite sure what they were doing. I think it was a blindfold challenge that they videotaped.

Another project we did in January was to change a part of the girls' room. I decided I wanted to get rid of a stand up desk in the school room and we found out it fit in this corner just perfectly. Raelyn really wanted a desk space of her own and a place to sit in her room since Aubrey won't let her sit on her bed on the bottom bunk.  This is the before picture.

These were one of the last things to come down. I finally got some pictures of all the craft ornaments that mostly Raelyn made, Aubrey did make a few. They were really cute!

Another project I worked on was getting my closet cleaned up a bit. I got part way through. I still have some more clothes to sort through one of these days.

This was a fun puzzle we did over Christmas. It was pretty easy and stayed out for a bit upstairs.

A beautiful sunrise I was able to catch one morning. This rarely happens at my house!

January BSF pie night at Shari's. We were missing Aubrey that night.
