Starting off May with the end of year co-op showcase! The kids show off what they learned in school this year, both on stage and with displays. Aubrey and Raelyn were in Ashia's dance class so they got to perform on stage. And they did so great! The whole show was really fun to watch and really well done. It was a good night!
Here are a couple pictures of the girls that Ashia sent me of the girls in class!
The girls were one of the first acts! Here are some pictures from their performance.
Here are are a few of the displays that Aubrey helped with.
I finally got a picture of the fun card box that Kelsey made for Claire for her birthday!
And even though Claire turned 16 in March we finally got around to celebrating her birthday and giving her gifts in May. we surprised her with having Kelsey come over to spend the night without her knowing it. It was a fun evening celebrating Claire.
Shortly after that we had the opportunity to view the aurora for the first time in our area. Well now it did show up around the whole country, but it was pretty cool to be able to see the northern lights where we live. At first we thought it wasn't going to be that great. We could only kinda see them in the sky and mostly when I took picture on my camera. After we waited around for awhile and were feeling pretty tired and were ready to leave, but then the lights really showed up! I am glad we stayed till they got really good!
This year we decided to go on a whim camping for Mother's day. Mills invited us as they were looking to get out and it turned out to be a fun early camp trip. We went for 2 nights to Dosewallips. Olivia was only able to come out just for Mother's day afternoon as she had school on Monday. It was chilly as it was May, but we had fun chatting and catching up on all that had been going on. The church stuff that Mills were heavily into with Todd being an elder and what not. It was a fun little camping get away! I will mention that it was not fun prepping for a camping trip on Mother's day, but the guys did try to cook for us on Mother's day. We still ended up doing a lot of it.
School in the spring is always fun! We are getting close to the end of the year and the weather is warming up and we can get outside! So nice!! And sometimes sisters fight! LOL!
Lilah had what looked like a weird growth on her lip. We left it on their a few days. And then I finally pulled it off. When I picked it up I realized it was moving and it was a tick! SO GROSS!! I'm glad we found it and got it off of her!
This year we had the daddy daughter ball in May as some couldn't make it in June. It was a smaller attendance than normal, but we still had a lovely night. And the girls enjoyed the time with their dads. We served lasagna, Caesar salad, and bread and I can't remember what we served for dessert. A new game we played this year was the sock game. Where a dad paired off against his daughter to find an item in the sock. The girls won pretty handily...the dad's may have let them. There were lots of laughs and fun. I hope the girls enjoyed the evening. I know they really love the dancing portion which is always just a bit too short.
For some reason I could not get the original pictures to upload from my computer on here, so these are lesser quality pictures of the pictures. Maybe I can get it figured out someday soon, but for now this will work. These are the pictures I took of the girls before we left. It was a rainy day and I didn't know if we were going to be able to do pictures outside at church. Fortunately, it did clear up enough to get pictures of the other guests outside at the church.
A few small group pictures from May. We enjoy spending time with our small group at church when we can make it.
My parents were here in May so I did some toy cleaning and closet cleaning. Some of these things were packed up to given away. A few of the favorites were packed up to go to Grandma's house for someday later.
We share our anniversary with Claire's best friend Kelsey... Claire posted this for her on her birthday.
And now that the girls dance at In Motion, we also share our anniversary weekend (aka Memorial Day weekend) with the dance show. The girls always have their showcase recital the Memorial Day weekend now.
And a few pictures I snapped during the show. We aren't supposed to take pictures, but I just can't help it.
After the show pictures with the family!
For our anniversary I got Hans flag stickers for our Durango. So we put them on that night. It took longer than we though it would, but they turned out awesome!
Girls danced on our anniversary and we went to dinner that night. But we made a quick trip the next day to deception pass. We had never been there and it was a fun place to visit. It was cool out and windy, but we explored a little and saw the sights. That night we spent the night at a casino near by and had a nice dinner and played a few of the machines. It was a fun little get away.
22 years married!
Monday morning we buzzed back home in time to watch the girls in their last show. They were only in the opening act that day as it was the little kids on Monday. I am glad that they separate the little kids and big kids. It makes the big kid recital so much better in my opinion.
More things that the girls have outgrown...So sad! They are growing up just way too fast! I don't like it.
We had an end of school year party at the church the last Wednesday of May. We had pizza and dessert and worship and end of the year parties.
There was a field day one afternoon at a friend's house. The kids played games and it was a nice time to be outside.
We thought we were going to down town Poulsbo early enough to miss the June display of pride flags, but they had put them up early...ugh! We like to celebrate with the Mills school being done with Sluy's doughnuts and coffee.
Another school year complete!!
Finally posting May (just a week or so before Christmas)...hopefully it doesn't take me as long to get June posted.
