I love to go to the fair! Growing up I was in 4-H and later FFA and took a pig to the fair every year starting in 3rd grade(this was kind of a given since my dad is a pig farmer). I loved going to the fair every year and looked forward to the week we spent there taking care of the pigs, showing pigs, riding rides, selling rodeo programs (with my 4-H group), and just hanging out and running into friends. And of course I loved the food. I know it is just fattening fair food, but I loved to get each of my favorites at least once during the week. Of course my love of the fair and fond memories of going and seeing the animals and exhibits is now fun to do with my kids. I don't know if they will ever be in 4-H or be able to take an animal to the fair but I hope that they will enjoy the fair like I do and know why I like it so much. We have taken Olivia to the fair every year since she has been born. She went for her first time when she was just 2 weeks old.
This year we got to go twice which was so much fun. First we went on Wed. with Jodie, Jada, Kelsey and Jodie's sister Jennie. We went before noon so we were able to get in for free which was nice and the girls loved to see the animals, we watched a few shows, and Olivia and Jada went on one ride together before we took off to get Claire a nap (which didn't happen). Olivia loved it so much the first day that she kept asking when we got to go back.
On Friday we went back when daddy could go with us. Olivia really enjoyed on Wed. doing The Cutest Show on Earth which is where the kids get to dress up and be in the little pirate show. Because she liked it so much we had to go back in time for her to do the show one more time which meant me going back a little earlier and daddy meeting us there for dinner and rides. It did rain a little but we still had fun. We ended our night with our favorite...funnel cake. The kids loved it and made a great mess.

It was a show about pirates but Olivia thought that because there were two mermaids in it it was about Ariel.
They got to ride one ride and they loved it.
On Friday I ended up buying a two child stroller off of Craigslist. The kids have been fighting over the stroller so I decided it was time plus we need one for Japan. We tried it out at the fair and it worked pretty well. They still like to fight over the same seat though of course.

Then daddy arrived and we had some dinner before heading off to the rides.

The food was really yummy, but unfortunately that night something made Hans sick and we had a bit of a rough night. Well all except Claire who slept great. So we had to cancel our plans that we had for the weekend but it was nice to have some time to just hang out at home and work slowly on some more projects. Now we are feeling as if summer is over and fall is officially moving on in. I do like fall, but am not quite ready for summer to be over. Hopefully we will have some more summer like days ahead of us.
