Easter!!

To say I am a bit behind is an understatement!  Ha!  The never ending battle of trying to keep up with my blog, keep up with life, and do all the things I want to do...which is unfortunately a long list as I tend to be a bit of a Type A personality if you haven't noticed before now.  Well enough with the rambling of being behind let's get to this post about Easter...hoping I can remember enough since it has been 2 months!  

Easter is always a fun time of year!  Celebrating the amazing sacrifice our Lord and Savior made on the cross for our sin, the grace He gives us each and every day.  It is a time of year to focus on the resurrection of our Savior. So we did a lot of Bible reading and study, but we also fit in some of our fun traditions that the girls love.  With Easter so early this year it felt tough to get in all the things I love to do and our schooling.  We had to get in one of our favorite activities of dying eggs.  The girls are so slow and patient these years. Not rushed and coloring them so fast that it is over in minutes like it used to be years ago.  They love choosing the right colors and doing different treatments on the eggs.  I actually had to hurry them a long a bit this year as we had dance classes to get to that afternoon!

Another favorite activity of mine is doing handprint crafts!  I love to see their little handprints made into some sort of picture.  Since we hadn't done one for awhile I thought an Easter handprint craft was in order.  I let Olivia out of the activity as she is feeling "too old" for handprint crafts...sniff, sniff.  The younger three had a great time painting their pictures and they turned out great if I do say so myself!!

Resurrection Gardens are another favorite activity at Easter.  The girls and I had made our gardens earlier in the week at home, but then last minute Gina invited everyone from our church over to work on gardens at her house one morning.  So we took our already made gardens over and spruced them up a bit. Especially Olivia's which didn't grow well.  It was fun to be with our friends for the morning as Hans was working anyways.

And Gina hid candy in the woods!  Of course kids love finding candy!!

Easter morning the girls always get an Easter basket.  This year I had them all set and ready to go in their usual place on the hearth, when I remembered that I had printed a scavenger hunt to do for the baskets. So I set up the little scavenger hunt which the girls loved doing the next morning.

And Easter morning last minute on facebook I saw that a friend had made prank baskets for her kids since it was April Fools Day.  So I threw out these baskets with toilet paper in them.  I thought it was pretty funny, but the girls didn't!

After church we took the trek across the water to Kevin and Anna's for the afternoon.  It was a fun afternoon with annual Easter egg hunt with the Chadwicks.  The kids always love to do this and get their own color to search for so then they are not competing to get the most but just find theirs.

The night was ended with quick goodbyes as we realized we were late for the ferry we wanted to catch and Grandma was puked on by Brecken.  We think it was too much candy and none of us got sick afterwards thankfully!!

Another wonderful Easter in the books!!  Hopefully the next post will not take so long to get put together and posted...we will see!
