May Highlights -(Updated and finally finished!!)

May was...you guessed it...busy!!  We tend to be busy all the time even when I think we won't be busy.  We had Grandma Mary visit for a day, landscaping at our rental, Mother's day, mini-golfing,  landscaping at our house,  end of year ceremonies and I am sure so much more (I just didn't take pictures of it or I have forgotten already...ha!)

Out for a walk!

We got caterpillars and had 5 butterflies.  They were really fun to watch grow and change and then turn into butterflies.  The girls really enjoyed watching it!

Grandma Mary got to come over for a night and a half day (she was over on the other side helping Anna out after the birth of Brecken).  It was a gorgeous day when she was here so we went to the park and had a subway lunch.  The girls had fun playing and eating and seeing Grandma.

That Saturday (May 9th) we got a pile of dirt delivered.  The night before we had worked at our rental and got some landscaping done that needed to be spruced up.  We had also been working on getting the area next to our shed cleaned up enough so that we could get it landscaped.  This is where a big pile of trees had been.

Fun on a dirt pile!!

The next day was Mother's Day.  It is always fun to just be with my girls.  And I always like to take the chance to get a picture with my girls.

That afternoon we went mini-golfing.  The girls really enjoyed it and despite it being packed there and us feeling a bit rushed they did really good.  Even Raelyn made it through most of the course and only didn't do the last few holes.  At the end they have a ball drop that you can win a free round if it goes in the right hole and Raelyn actually won a free round!  After golfing we went out for dinner and then went home for pie for dessert.  It was a really wonderful Mother's Day with my girls and hubby!!

My sweet sleeping babies!!  Nothing cuter than sleeping kids!

I love how these two are such good buddies and get to sleep and cuddle together.

The last day of Homebase is always fun to see their little show.  Aubrey is so shy, but she did a great job and sang along for the most part.  I wish I could get the videos uploaded, but once again I am having technical difficulties and don't have the time to work on it...sorry!!  I guess the stills will have to do.  My cute little Aubrey waiting to perform.

Unfortunately Aubrey doesn't like boys much but had a very boy heavy class.  Can you see her shyness!!

Claire had a piece of a poem memorized for her portion of the performance.  She spoke very loud and clear and did a great job!

This is not a great picture of Olivia, but it is the only one I got.  They each had a letter that they colored that spelled out Homebase is Awesome.  They also each read something from the back.  Olivia spoke really fast as she has a tendency to do, but she did a great job as well.

Finally the 6th graders each had a chance to perform something.  Since Hannah is a 6th grader she had her jazz group perform their dance.  Olivia, Claire and the whole group did a great job!

The last AWANA was also that week.  All three of the girls finished their books this year!  I am so proud of them.  It takes a lot to memorize all those verses.  Aubrey was very shy as normal, but she had her buddy one of the helpers Anna.  She absolutely LOVES Anna!!  She talks about her a lot and I think really thinks of her as one of her best friends.  Next year Anna will be at college and will not be helping next year and Aubrey is so so sad!!  Fortunately Raelyn will be able to be in cubbies with Aubrey next year so hopefully they will find a new helper that they love!!

Claire did so great this year.  She really opened up more and started playing the games.  She also was able to get through her review this year.  We are proud of you Claire!

Olivia had her first year of T&T and did really great.  She finished her book as well and did most of her silvers.  We are proud of you Livy!

Aubrey and her buddy Anna!!

You know I love my sleeping baby pictures {grin}

Our butterflies were really fun to watch this year as they turned into chrysalis and then butterflies.  It really is an amazing process and this time they all made it.  We were able to scoop the one that fell out of the bottom and it still hatched out.

When the big girls have a sleep over then we often try to make a fun "sleepover" for the girls.  This usually entails some sort of tent in our room for Aubrey to sleep in.  This time a bit of fighting was happening because the first tent we set up was too small for both girls and Aubrey did not want to share.  The second tent worked better although Raelyn didn't actually sleep in it.  They both did finally go to sleep.  These pictures were from when they were happy and having fun with Sammy.

Memorial Day weekend the girls also had their little show for their homeschool group at the studio.  They have a  lot of fun in this group and most all of the girls go to our church so it is fun for them to get to know them better.  I love the Christian music.  Claire did jazz this year and Olivia did both tap and jazz.

On May 25th we celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary.  We did get to go on a date the night before but because our anniversary was on Memorial Day this year the girls begged us to go mini-golfing again.  It was even more fun this time.  Less rushed, the girls did better and Raelyn made it all the way to the end.  Me on the other hand I didn't as I lost my ball about 3 holes from the end.

Everytime Raelyn got the ball in the hole she would say, "YES!".

In May we also took our spring pictures (yes they will be coming...I just finally got them on the computer...now to edit!)  Here are a couple of the out takes.
Life is hard when you are almost 3

I love to make silly faces for pictures!

I love to pose for pictures!

And it was finally time to let the butterflies go!  They were a bit tough to get out this time!

The last weekend of May we had a camping trip planned to Fort Flagler a campground we had never been to, but had heard great things about.  It really was a great place and we can't wait to go back!  The weather turned out really nice and it was a good first trip out with no major problems with the camper (which is always good!).  The beach there was super nice and there was lots to do.

Playing at the playground the first day there!

That evening we also flew kites.

Beginning of day 2:

Uno is our new camping game.  The girls really love it and even Raelyn is getting the hang of it now and able to join in.

The second day was a bit cooler but not bad weather.  We played at the playground, went for a hike and saw some of the old fort and bunkers, and played at the beach some more.  It was a really nice and fairly relaxing time for all of us.

After lunch we headed out for a hike.  It warmed up and it was nice to get out.

Love this little girlie even with her pouty face!

And then it was back to the beach for more fun in the sand and sun.

Trying to get a foot picture but they all messed it up.

Good thing we got out once before the burn ban and got to burn up a small amount of our massive amount of wood we need to burn...ha!

The next morning everyone woke up happy and rested.  No one wanted to leave, but of course we had to.  We will definitely had back to Fort Flagler someday...a super fun place to camp!

Love that these two are starting to bond more and play more.  They are close in age but just getting to the point where they play well together.
